Hallett's Hits 6/22/25

Hi! Welcome to what may be the most active Hallett's Hits yet, with two records set - a 13-spot biggest drop from a song I'll likely purge soon, and a 23-spot biggest jump from a song that's been floating at the bottom of the countdown for a while and just recently clicked with me enough to make the insane climb from #28 to #5. You can also expect a giant countdown purge next week, since 13 songs debuted Almost There this week, a bunch of songs from Benson Boone's new album American Heart (which will be this month's album review) are now temporarily residing in the abyss, and the one and only Laufey announced a third AMOT single Lover Girl set to release on Wednesday. Also, one small announcement - the Starlight Five is now the Starlight Seven, partially just because it sounds cooler, but also it'll hopefully be a bit less stagnant, and as well as that for kinda the same reason, it's now based on a combination of Hits 1, Billboard, AT40, and personal preference. Anyway, here are this week's new hits!

Conceptual lyric video designs for Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) (Hallett's Version)

Hi! Welcome to the second installment in my four-part series of conceptual lyric videos. If you don't know already, whenever Taylor Swift rerecords an album, she releases lyric videos for all of the songs on that album. A lot of them are actually really cool, with some almost functioning as proper music videos. Unlike the typical lyric videos, Taylor's lyric videos are generally set over a background that encapsulates the song or the era, sometimes multiple shifting backgrounds, and sometimes with a montage of photos (usually from the album's tour). Some of my personal favorites of the lyric videos so far are the ones for All Too Well, Clean, 22, Blank Space, Today Was A Fairytale, Jump Then Fall, The Lucky One, and I Can See You, so I recommend that you check those out.

Anyway, this is another fan design-style post that I've done a few of before, and it's a lot like the post I made a few weeks ago with Reputation. I made conceptual designs for lyric videos for the self-titled debut album Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version). No, I didn't make entire videos, just pictures with the core design ideas I had in mind. And yes, I made all of these without the help of AI because I'm extra like that. Also, as much time and effort as I put into getting these to look great, it's not like I perfected each design pixel-by-pixel, because... that's just simply not possible. There may very well be some errors, so I'm sorry if I didn't catch a minor typo in the lyrics, or a tiny camouflaged watermark on one of the random royalty-free stock photos I used, or one unnecessary pixel of fuchsia-ish-mauve in the middle of a blank space. Don't attack me for any misplaced pixels like everyone does to Taylor Swift.

I'd love to hear in the comments which ones are your personal favorites. I think Cold As You, Invisible, Our Song, Crazier, and Lucky You turned out the most "official-looking", and Picture To Burn (my least favorite Taylor Swift song) and the possible vault track I'd Lie have two of the funniest designs. Let me know what you think.

(Yes, I know Taylor bought all her albums back so she technically wouldn't need to rerecord this, but she did announce that she still wanted to release a rerecording of this album with her matured vocals, so I'm just gonna assume we're still getting Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version), and even if not, this was still just a fun little collection of designs to make.)

There will be no further explanation. There will just be... T A Y L O R   S W I F T.

Hallett's Hits 6/8/25 + new additions

Hi! So, this is an interesting week for Hallett's Hits with a lot of announcements to share:

  • First off, I added a new segment called the Starlight Five, which is basically five songs I really like that are becoming popular on radio. Right now it's only based on Hits 1 and personal preference, but I might start adding more factors that influence it like Billboard or AT40.
  • I've reorganized the extras a bit so it stays with the "every five songs" pattern from before, so now the Golden Extra is before #25, the Underground Extra is before #20, the Rising Extra is before #15, the Almost There Extra is before #10, and the Extra Extra is before #5.
  • Next week my time will finally start being much less limited so I can start working on the rest of my Taylor Swift concept videos and updating my general HH pages, alongside my playlist next week which will be posted with HH!
  • And finally, I have one more huge announcement. To celebrate the start of summer and possibly also to commemorate 13,000 pageviews assuming I've reached that in the next month, I will be doing my largest series yet: Hallett's Summer Celebration. It's similar to a few of the special series Bubby has done (or like my 12 days of Christmas post but much larger) where I'll be posting every day for the entire month of July. These will vary in size and genre, and will include my weekly Hallett's Hits posts along with EP & album reviews, playlists, fan designs, rankings, and more.
Anyway, here is this week's chart!

Hallett's Hits 6/1/25 + Proud 22

Hi! Welcome to the first Hallett's Hits of my favorite month, and the ðŸŒˆ special edition! I have included a playlist in this post to celebrate pride month. This was one of my most special playlists to make, especially as a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and I know I usually make 10-song playlists, but I just couldn't limit myself with this one, so it's a collection of 22 amazing songs, twenty-one of which are by artists in the community (one of those being my all-time favorite song) and one song by an openly straight ally written against homophobia (and I'm sure you can guess what song I chose for that).

These next few weeks of Hallett's Hits will all be very special, because obviously this week I have the pride playlist, and then next week I'll be making a few new changes and additions to Hallett's Hits (it's really not much, just a few little things) and the week after that I'll be releasing a summer celebration playlist, and all of this will be done alongside my continued four-part series of conceptual Taylor Swift lyric videos, which even considering the recent bittersweet announcement that Taylor now owns her old music as well, I will continue to do as Taylor's Versions (at least for the debut album) are still expected. Anyway, let's get into this week's Hallett's Hits!
